I love this dress. I felt regal, uber-fashionable, and outstanding in my own right. The multicolored paisley print needs no accessories, but how could you not pair this dress with a purse and jewelry? It's all about color complimenting by playing up undertones.
What I love about it
I wanted this dress the minute I saw it because the colors complemented my skin tone. It comes in three available multicolored combos and one took the cake for me. Knowing what tones and shades uniquely fit you plays a pretty big part in styling yourself.
I haven't seen this style of dress often, so it stands out. It kinda reminds me of another era in fashion, like the 1950s and 1960s, yet it works so well today. This dress is classified in the boho style category and to be honest...that's probably why I low-key love it. That style just speaks to me. I guess it represents freedom and a mix of this and that -- can't quite box it. I like. I like it a lot.
I like a good collared, shirt-style look every now and then too. So, points for that.
I'm not crazy about my upper arms so I appreciate the batwing element and the length, hitting mid-arm. The included belt accentuates the waist since this dress is intended to have a looser fit. #FigureFlattering
Satin material, get in my shopping cart and onto my body. Ever worn a pair of satin pajamas to bed? Or, you know that smooth and silky feeling of freshly shaven legs on cool and crisp bedsheets? Yeahhhh, that's that satin-like right there.
The drawbacks
There's no stretch whatsoever. As a thicker and taller lady, I want all clothing to stretch and bend at will to conform to the body automatically. But alas, that isn't the case for this style. So, get your actual size or even go up a size if it suits you. My dress size can range from 12 - 16 in U.S. clothing, depending on the brand and any inevitable weight fluctuations. I got the size 12 (XL) and it got the job done.
The material is NOT wrinkle-resistant. Wrinkle city. Now might be the time for me to change my none iron/iron board owner status. *head palm* 🤦🏽♀️
While the dress is rather thin, its midi-length compensates so when that when the wind blows just right, we all don't have to endure an unintended Marilyn Monroe moment. Other than that, there aren't many drawbacks to this dress.
Is it tall-girl friendly?
It is! This midi-length dress works for a tall girl. My natural height is 5'11 and I'm over six feet in shoes. It hits my calves. It's not too short. It's not too long. It's just right. Thank goodness for this fit.
Other features
Even though the dress is thin, it's not sheer which is a plus. You're free to be...free as you wear it.
Pros:
Vibrant and colorful
Stylish
Affordable
Light and airy
Cons:
Thin
