Jumpsuits are simply fitting -- they should be. It's a one-piece article of clothing (simple) that aligns to your body, accentuating a striking figure if you hit the jackpot with the material (fitting). I love jumpsuits and rompers mainly because they're a one-and-done type of outfit. I'm not gonna lie. I also love clothing that's figure flattering, and the right jumpsuit accomplishes that.
What I love about it
On my search for stylish, yet comfortable, yet affordable, yet fitting clothing for tall and voluptuous figures...I came across a denim jumpsuit from Shein's SHEIN SXY line. This is such a cute jumpsuit and I gotta give it credit for its intended fit. By intended fit, I mean it's supposed bodycon-esque style. And because it's made of thicker material, it holds in the body at typically troublesome places (waist, thighs, hips, etc).
The drawbacks
Alright, now let's get down to the knitty-gritty. It's made of stretchy denim material but needs way more stretch to accommodate expanding bodies in movement. The sizing was kinda off for this even though it's intended to have a figure-hugging fit. I ordered
the largest size available, the XXL, which is supposed to be a U.S. size 14. Granted, I'm sure I've gained some pounds. Buuuuut this jumpsuit feels like it runs smaller, considering it boasts the "high-stretch" badge given to clothing on the site to let customers know they'll have some leeway on sizing.
I typically wear a U.S. size 14 in women's clothing, but that size range fluctuates between a 12 and 16 or Large (L) to XX-Large (XXL) depending on the brand, material, and...well...life stressors.
Is it tall-girl friendly?
This denim jumpsuit is NOT tall-girl friendly. I'd recommend it for someone 5-foot-7 and shorter because it's not giving for us ladies 5-foot-10 and up. The jumpsuit hits above my ankles so I'm in the flood, but thankfully I can swim and make it work. It also suffers from the lack-of-torso-length common to the average jumpsuit and romper, which explains why the straps dug into my shoulders and I experienced resistance raising my arms or bending at the waist. When I got home and took the jumpsuit off, my whole body screamed a sigh of relief. I was so disappointed because it's a head-turner and complimented my body type well.
Other features
There's a zipper-style back so it isn't too hard to get in and out of the suit. Because the jumpsuit is plain light denim, you can dress it up or dress it down. Yes, style freedom! You can add accessories like a chain belt and it won't be overkill. You can style it with a blouse if you'd like. And you can for sure style it with statement necklaces, earrings, scarves, and hats.
Pros:
Stylish
Affordable
Good, thick material
Figure flattering
Cons:
Not tall-girl friendly
Runs slightly smaller
